Production Assistant

Behind our production process is a well-organized operation where planning, administration and teamwork come together. To keep everything running smoothly, we are looking for a Production Assistant who stays on top of things, adapts quickly and thrives in a dynamic working environment.

What we offer

  • Salary (based on a 36-hour working week): Meat Industry Collective Labour Agreement (CAO), salary scale D, starting salary D4 (€2,448.50 gross per 4 weeks / €2,652.54 gross per month), with progression up to D7 depending on experience. Salary is paid every four weeks;
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, 8% holiday allowance, 2% year-end bonus, shift/inconvenience allowance, overtime compensation, 24 vacation days, participation in the VLEP pension scheme, and additional employment benefits in accordance with our collective labour agreement (CAO);
  • You will start with a 12-month employment contract based on 36 hours per week, spread over 5 working days. Good performance offers the prospect of an extension;
  • Working hours (may occasionally start or finish slightly earlier or later depending on the production schedule): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and on Wednesdays the working day usually ends around 1:00 PM. This includes two 30-minute breaks. No shift work;

What you will do

You will receive thorough onboarding and training from your colleagues, including the Production Manager and Team Leaders, helping you expand your knowledge and gain insight into our procedures and operational processes. As you become familiar with the role, you will gradually take on more responsibility and work increasingly independently.

As a Production Assistant, you are at the heart of our production organization. You ensure that all administrative and operational processes behind the scenes run smoothly, enabling production to operate efficiently and without delays. You work closely with colleagues from Production, Logistics, Butchery and the Office. You are constantly switching between tasks, keeping track of daily deadlines and responding proactively to changes. Your responsibilities include:

  • Processing timesheets and carrying out attendance checks;
  • Updating personnel records and sharing reports, including absence and working hours reports;
  • Monitoring production schedules and tracking progress throughout the day;
  • Ensuring accurate product registration and traceability;
  • Printing labels and managing administrative production processes;
  • Coordinating with supervisors and various departments;
  • Handling and responding to emails and internal communications;
  • Working with systems such as Carenet and Magic for reporting and registration purposes;
  • Supporting a variety of administrative and control-related activities within the production department.

What we ask

  • MBO Level 4 working and thinking level, preferably in administration or logistics;
  • Experience in a production or logistics environment is an advantage;
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset;
  • Accurate, organised and able to maintain a clear overview;
  • Able to switch quickly between tasks and remain calm under pressure;
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of HACCP and relevant quality and safety standards is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, and a basic command of English. This is a requirement;
  • Preferably living in Rotterdam or the surrounding area;
  • In possession of a driving licence, personal transportation and accommodation.
