Working Foreman - Beef Cutting Department

In this versatile role, you combine hands-on beef cutting and trimming with the operational supervision of a production line team. You actively participate in the process, monitor progress and quality, and ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. At the same time, you serve as the first point of contact for the production line team and contribute to a professional, safe, and positive working environment.

  • A stable job with consistent work and the opportunity for a permanent contract.
  • Salary (based on a 40-hour workweek): Meat Industry Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) salary scale F, starting level F3 (paid every 4 weeks), €2,984 gross per 4-week period (€3,232.67 gross per month). Depending on your individual performance, you may qualify for an annual net bonus.
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer, 8% holiday allowance, 2% year-end payment, inconvenience allowance, overtime compensation, 24 vacation days, VLEP pension scheme and other employment conditions according to our CAO.
  • You will start with a 12-month employment contract based on 40 hours per week, spread across 5 working days. Extension is possible based on performance.
  • Working hours (may vary slightly depending on production planning): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 06:00 to 15:00. On Wednesdays, work usually finishes around 13:00. This includes two 30-minute breaks. No shift work.

What you will do

You will receive thorough on-the-job training from your production colleagues, helping you build product knowledge and gain insight into our procedures and production processes. Over time, you will carry out your responsibilities more independently.

Production and Meat Processing

  • Cutting and trimming beef products.
  • Removing fat, membranes, tendons and other unwanted parts.
  • Processing both standard cuts (for example topside and chuck tender) and premium cuts (for example entrecote, rump steak and silverside).
  • Working according to production orders and quality standards, with a focus on volume, timing and quality targets.
  • Identifying and resolving minor process disruptions and ensuring an efficient production flow.

Leadership and Coaching

  • Coordinating daily activities on the production line while actively participating in the work.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for employees and allocating work while maintaining an overview of the line.
  • Motivating, instructing and correcting colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Setting the right example through attitude, behavior and workmanship.

Safety, Hygiene and Quality

  • Working according to applicable procedures and standards (including HACCP, BRCGS and IFS).
  • Monitoring food safety and quality and taking action in case of deviations or unsafe situations.
  • Actively contributing to a strong food safety culture within the team.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

What we ask

What you bring to the table

  • Proven experience in beef cutting and trimming, including premium cuts. This is required.
  • Good knowledge of production lines, production processes and meat quality standards. Knowledge of HACCP and relevant quality and safety standards is an advantage.
  • Practical leadership skills, including communication, coordination and problem-solving.
  • Fluent Dutch, both spoken and written, and basic English language skills. This is required.
  • Preferably living in Rotterdam or the surrounding area.
  • A valid driving license, transportation and accommodation.
